Remote interpreting platform

A remote interpreting platform built into your bookings

Run video and audio interpreting from the booking itself: your own branded meeting room or a Microsoft Teams meeting, a personal link for each person, a waiting room, recording and a live transcript that names each speaker. No separate platform to pay for, and nothing for anyone to install.

In short

Remote interpreting connects an interpreter to the people who need them over a video or audio call instead of in person; video remote interpreting is often shortened to VRI. In LinguisTriks, every remote booking gets its meeting: in your own meeting room or as a Microsoft Teams meeting, with personal join links, a waiting room, optional recording, live transcripts and calendar invites that follow the booking.

Your rooms or Teams

Choose the meeting for each booking

Hold a session in your own video or audio meeting room, branded for your agency and opened from a link in the browser, or let the portal create a Microsoft Teams meeting for the booking. Move the booking and the meeting moves with it; cancel it and the meeting is cancelled too.

  • Video or audio sessions in your own rooms
  • A Microsoft Teams meeting created per booking
  • Meetings that move and cancel with the booking
  • On or off for your agency

Joining

Personal join links and a waiting room

The client, the interpreter and any guests each get their own join link by email, with a calendar invite that names the time zone. Anyone using the shared room link waits in a waiting room until a host lets them in, turns them away or removes them.

  • A personal link for each person
  • Calendar invites with updates and cancellations
  • A waiting room the host controls
  • Guests invited from the booking

Transcripts

A live transcript, with each speaker named

Switch transcription on for a session in your own rooms and each person's microphone is turned into text as they speak. The transcript shows who said what and when; your team can download it or delete it. The audio itself is never stored.

After the session

Transcribed with speakers, translated for the record

Add the session's recording or transcript to a translation job and Translate with AI returns a time-coded transcript with its translation beside it, each speaker named. Your linguist reviews it in the bilingual editor before anything goes to the client, and the AI draft itself is never shown to the client.

  • Recordings transcribed with each speaker named and time codes
  • The translation shown beside the transcript as a timeline
  • Reviewed by a linguist before it is delivered
  • AI drafts never shown to clients

Records

Recordings kept with the booking

Where your agency allows it, sessions can be recorded and the recording is stored with the booking, for as long as your retention setting says, then deleted automatically.

  • Recording allowed or not, per agency
  • Stored with the booking
  • Deleted after the period you set
  • Only your staff can open them

Billing

Invoiced and paid from the same booking

The session is a booking like any other, so the client charges, the interpreter's timesheet, the invoice and the interpreter's payment all follow without re-typing.

  • Client and interpreter charges on the booking
  • Online timesheets
  • Invoices paid by card or PayPal
  • Interpreter payouts that can't pay twice

Questions

Remote interpreting, answered

What is video remote interpreting?

Video remote interpreting (VRI) is interpreting delivered over a video call, with the interpreter in a different place from the people who need them. Audio-only remote interpreting works the same way without the video.

Do participants need to install anything?

No. Sessions in your own meeting rooms open from a link in the browser. Teams meetings open in Microsoft Teams, as usual.

Can we use Microsoft Teams instead of your rooms?

Yes. Choose Teams for a meeting and the portal creates a Teams meeting for the booking through your organisation's Microsoft 365, then moves or deletes it when the booking changes.

What do we need to set it up?

Your own meeting rooms run on your agency's Twilio account, the same kind of account used for SMS. Teams meetings need your Microsoft 365 connected. We help with both during onboarding.

How accurate are the live transcripts?

They are produced by speech-to-text AI, one speaker at a time, which keeps them readable. Like any automatic transcript, check it before anyone relies on it as a record.

Can the session be translated afterwards?

Yes. Add the recording or the transcript to a translation job and Translate with AI gives a time-coded transcript with its translation, each speaker named when Azure AI Speech is chosen. A linguist checks it before it is delivered.

Can sessions be recorded?

Yes, if your agency allows recording. The recording is stored with the booking and deleted after the retention period you set.
