Trados Business Manager alternative
A Trados Business Manager alternative, for agencies that want support again
If your quotes, jobs and invoices still run in Trados Business Manager, here's what changed, what to look for in a replacement and how LinguisTriks covers the same ground - plus interpreting, client payments and paying linguists.
In short
RWS stopped selling Trados Business Manager on 31 October 2023 and ended its maintenance and support on 31 October 2024. It keeps working where it's installed, but it no longer gets updates, fixes or help. LinguisTriks is a supported, web-based system for the same work - clients, quotes, projects, freelancers, invoices and reports - and it adds interpreting bookings, online payments and linguist payouts.
What happened to Trados Business Manager?

Moving your data across
Start with the free trial and we set up your own portal. During onboarding, which is included in every plan, we help you bring across your clients, linguists and rates, so you start with the records you use every day. If you can still export lists from your installation, a spreadsheet of clients, linguists and rates is the best place to start.
Finished jobs and old invoices can stay where they are for reference while new work starts in LinguisTriks, so there's no big-bang weekend.

Switching from Trados Business Manager
Is Trados Business Manager still supported?
No. RWS ended sales on 31 October 2023 and maintenance and support on 31 October 2024. Existing installations keep working, but without updates, fixes or help from RWS.
Can we keep using Trados Studio with LinguisTriks?
Yes. LinguisTriks runs the business around the translation. Its bilingual editor exports and imports XLIFF files, so linguists can keep translating in Trados Studio or memoQ and bring the work back.
Does LinguisTriks handle interpreting as well as translation?
Yes. Interpreting bookings, job offers by email and SMS, online meetings and interpreter timesheets sit alongside translation projects, with one client list and one invoice run.
How do we move our clients and linguists across?
During onboarding, which is included in every plan, we help you bring across your clients, linguists and rates. A spreadsheet export of those lists is the best starting point.
What does LinguisTriks cost?
LinguisTriks is priced per user per month, with every price on the pricing page and a 30-day free trial with no credit card.
